Estes Park is a haven for adventure seekers. Its unique blend of rugged natural beauty and an array of exhilarating outdoor activities makes it an ideal destination for those craving a thrill. This is your adventure seeker’s journey to Estes Park.

Day 1 – Thrills and Heights

Wake up and start your day in your luxuriously cozy vacation rental provided by Voyago. After a great night’s sleep, you’re ready to get out there and explore. Start your Estes Park adventure with a morning zip lining session at Open Air Adventure Park. The rush of soaring through the air with the Rockies as a backdrop is exhilarating. For fun on land, you might opt for ax throwing or kayak tours.

Refuel with a hearty lunch at Smokin’ Dave’s BBQ! Nothing beats barbecue after an adventure-filled morning. Take your pick of unique barbecue options like bison ribs or try the brisket nachos.

With a full belly, embark on your next adventure at the Estes Park Mountain Shop for a guided rock climbing excursion. After getting some practice in at their epic climbing gym, schedule a guided excursion out at Lumpy Ridge. There are options for groups and for various skill levels. Scaling the vertical faces of Lumpy Ridge is a challenge but it sure is rewarding. Not to mention, the views will take your breath away.

Stop by The Rock Inn Mountain Tavern for dinner. The rustic atmosphere is perfect for unwinding, and the live music adds to the vibrant mountain vibe. Opt for the filet mignon with a side of creamy polenta and a glass of deep red wine to top off day 1.

Day 2: Exploration and Discovery

Day 2 begins with an early morning hike to Gem Lake. As you meander along this peaceful trail, you notice the sun start to peek over the mountains and glisten in the lake. The view is truly mesmerizing. In the early morning, it’s so quiet. You walk along and hear the creak of gravel under your feet. Watch wildlife scurry and play before heading to get some organic coffee and breakfast.

Grab a quick breakfast at Kind Coffee, for some organic roasted blends and locally sourced pastries. Order the Emerald Lake latte, a latte with white chocolate and pistachio! For brekkie, decide on the Narrows toasted sandwich on a croissant which consists of egg, avocado, and herb cream cheese. You need a balance of fuel for more day 2 adventures.

It’s time for a kayaking tour on Lake Estes with the Lake Estes Marina team. Rent your kayak and get ready to traverse the calm waters of Lake Estes. You can’t help but feel grateful as you take in the beautiful sights around you.

For another round of good food, stop by Ed’s Cantina & Grill for lunch. Keep the aquatic theme going from today’s adventure and order the fish tacos with a margarita on the side. Ed’s Cantina gives you flavorful food served in a cozy atmosphere.

Stop by the infamous Stanley Hotel to explore. Take the theatrical tour for a mix of history and spine-tingling stories. Get ready for a lot of Stephen King, history, and spooky stories thrown into the mix! Following up is an amazing dinner at Bird & Jim. You can taste the freshness of the farm to table ingredients. Choose the Mountain Jim Burger and watermelon mule to wash it down with. The cherry on top of an adventurous day.

Day 3 – Nature’s Majesty

Another early start leads you to the stables for a horseback ride with Jackson’s Stables Inc. You’ll be trotting through the Glacier Basin Trail and Moraine Park in Rocky Mountain National Park. Feast your eyes on amazing scenes like wide open spaces, mountains, and rushing rivers! Not to mention, you’ll be traveling along traditional trails that have steep uphills and downhills. Quite the adventure with a four-legged friend to lead you.

After horsing around, stop for Brunch at Claire’s on the Park. Their outdoor seating area is the perfect place to eat some chicken and waffles as you enjoy the view.

As afternoon rolls around, why not take a scenic drive along Trail Ridge Road on the highway to the sky. Stop at the different overlooks to see breathtaking views of the Rockies. All that driving and stopping is bound to strike up an appetite. Head over to Poppy’s Pizza & Grill and enjoy some slices of their famous pizza on the riverside patio.

Head home after another adventure-filled day 3 and enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub of your Estes Park vacation home. Sip on a glass of wine as you watch the sun set beneath the mountains and paint the sky in pastel. It was an incredible adventure in Estes Park!
