Unfortunately, this was our experience at the vacation home we rented for a family graduation trip in Boulder, and we know we can’t be the first to encounter a similar situation during a vacation rental stay.
For us, the unpredictability of whether the home really looked like the pictures online (they usually didn’t) or if we would be able to speak to an actual human in the event our door entry code didn’t work only detracted from why most book a vacation home, for unique experience, at least it did for us. With long standing family roots in the hotel development and management and years of experience in hotel industry ourselves, we saw a niche, providing guests with the predictability of hotel amenities, enhancing the unique experience craved.
